Miserden and Corinium Blue TexelsSelection of 2023 Blue lambs available from end of July.
Miserden Epic just trimmed and ready for the sale at Worcester April 24th 2021.
Miserden Blue Texels sends best wishes to all those who purchased rams and females from us this year. Eight Miserden Blue Texel Shearling Rams have gone to pedigree flocks, introducing our bloodlines all over the country. We have also sold a further twelve rams to commercial farmers, who value the breed for its ease of lambing. We are proud to be a flock that does not use embryo transfer (ET) but breeds from top quality Blue Texel ewes which have the ability to lamb easily and rear two lambs to a high standard. We look forward to hearing how lambing goes.

Royal Ulster (Balmoral) Show Northern Ireland
I was delighted and privileged to be invited to judge the Blue Texel classes, sponsored by Parkview Veterinary Clinic, at this year’s Balmoral Show in Northern Ireland.
While there were not huge classes it was lovely to see some quality animals and to meet exhibitors and members from Northern Ireland. Janet and Andy Carson had some superb animals forward and rather dominated the major awards, especially with a beautiful shearling ewe and lovely lambs.
As we came into the Championship I was certain that Janet’s shearling ewe had the award, but she simply refused to sparkle as she had in her class. However the winner of the ewe class, a March lamber from A & J Knox, Ballymoney was far more alert than she had been previously, and became my worthy Champion with the shearling ewe Reserve.
It was great to see so many young handlers out in the ring with their animals and the Knox family, fairly new to the breed, were delighted with the result.

Looking forward to seeing his lambs in 2017 Miserden Blue Texel Gimmer, Female Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion Builth Ram Sales and Society Sale September 2016 18th October 2016 - Blue Texel Shearling Rams sold to new commercial homes, some going tomorrow, the rest off next week. Hopefully they will produce more of the top quality lambs that their predecessors have left, and more happy farmers.
Miserden Blue Texel Flock started by accident in 2007 when two White Texels produced a superb Blue ram lamb. He became quite a talking point and was such a good lamb that we entered him in the Any Other Breed classes at Three Counties, The Royal (still going then!) and Royal Welsh shows, where he won the Ram Lamb class and became Champion or Reserve at each show! Later that year the flock was properly established with the purchase of the two top priced yearling ewes and one older ewe from Dennis Davies’ dispersal sale of his Marteg flock, plus a part share in Marteg Merlin, a ram lamb purchased after the sale. Merlin, his son Roderick and grandson Vinnie have been a tremendous influence in the flock, being very correct, well balanced sheep with good steel blue colouring. The original Blue Texel Miserden Klinker was used within the Blue flock and his progeny excelled in the show ring. The two 2006 ewes are still fit and well and expecting their eighth crop of lambs in March 2015!
Blue Texels have narrow heads and are smaller and lighter in bone than the white Texels. These breed characteristics being upheld in the show and sale ring, producing an easy lambing sheep with interesting colour pattern and excellent carcase conformation. Other additions to the flock have come from Glyndr Arrowsmith’s Pen y Bec flock,
